In July 2025, TS Display created a custom split flap display for RWT Collective, a trading card shop in West Los Angeles. Short for Real World Trading, RWT offers Pokémon, One Piece, Magic: The Gathering and other trading card games, and is also listed in PSA’s official dealer directory.
Featuring two rows of 20 characters and 40 modules in total, the display sits above the shop counter, bringing practical messaging and mechanical character to a space built around cards, collectibles and community.
More than a year later, the board continues to operate reliably and has become a signature feature of the store.

Why a Split Flap Display Instead of an LED Screen?
A conventional LED screen could display store messages, but its familiar digital appearance would add little personality to RWT’s interior. A mechanical split flap display brings physical movement, the distinctive sound of flipping characters and something visitors can enjoy watching. In a shop where people appreciate tangible collectibles, that mechanical character feels at home—making the board both a useful information display and a memorable part of the space.
Choosing TS Display
RWT’s owner, a Chinese entrepreneur fluent in both Mandarin and English, considered manufacturers around the world before choosing TS Display for this project.
We appreciate the trust he placed in our team to create a display for his store.
After installation, he was pleased with the result and shared a video with us right away. It showed the completed split flap board above the counter, already becoming part of the shop’s atmosphere.
Two Rows, 40 Modules, Built for the Space
The display features 20 character positions on each of its two rows. Its horizontal layout fits naturally above the counter, keeping messages visible while leaving the merchandise below in full view.
In the early installation video, the board announced the shop’s upcoming soft opening—a simple example of how a retail split flap display can communicate useful information while contributing to the interior.
Black flaps and white lettering complement the surrounding fixtures, while the physical flipping action brings each changing message to life.

More Than a Year of Reliable Operation
After more than a year of reliable operation, the display has become an established part of RWT Collective’s interior.
Above the counter, it blends with the shelving, display cases and card collections around it. What began as an information board has grown into a recognizable feature of the shop.
For TS Display, this project is meaningful both for the owner’s initial satisfaction and for how naturally the finished display has become part of the space over time.
