Installed prominently above the main interior space, it combines mechanical movement, information and visual identity as part of the architecture itse<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-3a88641f wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Project Information<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Location: Jakarta, Indonesia<br>Use Case: Brand Experience Center \/ Caf\u00e9 Display<br>Client: N\u00d8N by KKDC<br>Design Style: Architectural Commercial Interior Installation<br>Installed: 2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Split Flap Specs<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Module Size: 20 cm (H) \u00d7 15 cm (W)<br>Layout: 4 Rows \u00d7 32 Columns<br>Overall Display Area: 80 cm (H) \u00d7 480 cm (W)<br>Finish: Black Flap Surface with White Characters and Custom Graphics<br>Display Content: English &amp; Indonesian Messages \/ Opening Hours \/ Brand Graphics<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Designed for English and Indonesian Content<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the important considerations in this project was the required display content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The split flap display needed to present messages in both <strong>English and Indonesian.<\/strong> Because some of the English and Indonesian messages required relatively long character sequences, the display was designed with <strong>32 modules across each row.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 4 \u00d7 32 configuration provides enough horizontal space for longer messages while maintaining the strong proportions required for such a large architectural installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond standard letters and numbers, customized flap graphics and symbols were incorporated into the display, allowing N\u00d8N to create more distinctive visual sequences alongside functional information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Mechanical Display Within a \u201cGallery of Light\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">N\u00d8N by KKDC is more than a conventional caf\u00e9. Created by KKDC as an experience center in Jakarta, the space combines architectural lighting, immersive environments, food and beverage, and areas for interaction and collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Against this carefully designed interior, a conventional digital screen would create a very different visual effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The split flap display introduces physical movement instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each message is formed through the mechanical rotation of individual flaps. When 128 modules begin changing simultaneously, the movement and characteristic mechanical sound turn a simple information change into a visual moment within the space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The finished installation can display opening information, coffee-related messages, brand graphics, symbols and other changing content while remaining integrated with the architectural character of N\u00d8N.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>128 Modules, One Integrated Display<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At<strong> 4.8 meters wide<\/strong>, this project demonstrates how a modular split flap system can become a substantial architectural feature without relying on LED or LCD technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All 128 modules operate together as one display while each character position remains individually controlled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The modular structure also allowed the dimensions to be developed specifically around the available installation area:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>4 rows \u00d7 32 columns \u00d7 20 \u00d7 15 cm modules<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>= 80 cm high \u00d7 480 cm wide<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This long horizontal format is particularly suitable for caf\u00e9s, restaurants, hospitality spaces, brand experience centers and other commercial interiors where messages need to remain visible across a wide space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Pre-Shipment Visit and Project Review<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before shipment to Indonesia,<strong> the owner of KKDC personally visited TS Display<\/strong> to inspect the completed 128-module split flap display and review its operation and overall build quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the visit, we tested the complete<strong> 4 \u00d7 32 display<\/strong> together and discussed the project in detail before final delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The visit also provided an opportunity to exchange ideas abou<strong>t potential future cooperation between KKDC and TS Display,<\/strong> including how mechanical display technology could be applied in different architectural and commercial environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the final inspection and testing, the display was prepared for shipment to Jakarta and subsequently installed at<strong> N\u00d8N by KKDC.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>From Our Workshop to Jakarta<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The completed installation shows the entire process coming together\u2014from module production and customized flap content to testing, international delivery and final integration into the interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, the 4.8-meter split flap display sits prominently inside N\u00d8N by KKDC, bringing physical movement and changing information into a space already centered around lighting, architecture and experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For TS Display, the project is another example of how split flap technology can move beyond traditional departure-board applications and become part of contemporary <strong>retail, hospitality and architectural design.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 4.8-meter-wide, 128-module mechanical split flap display integrated into KKDC\u2019s new experience center in Jakarta TS Display produced a 4 \u00d7 32 split flap display for N\u00d8N by KKDC, a new experience center created by architectural lighting company KKDC in Jakarta, Indonesia.
