We designed and built a custom split flap display for the Papabubble candy store located in Tokyo Ginza, one of the world’s most prestigious retail districts.
This compact mechanical flip display features 2 rows and 12 modules, making it ideal for luxury retail spaces with limited ceiling or wall area. Despite its small size, the split flap display can show any English text, allowing flexible messaging while maintaining a clean visual presence.
The iconic flipping sound draws attention naturally, adding motion and character without overpowering the interior design. Suspended inside the store, the display integrates seamlessly with Papabubble’s handcrafted aesthetic.
Just like Papabubble’s handmade candies, this handcrafted split flap display is built entirely by hand, emphasizing craftsmanship, authenticity, and timeless mechanical design.
